Usage Billing for Link Your Own Courier Account (LYOC) Customers

This article explains how usage billing works if you use your own courier accounts linked to Easyship, how charges are calculated, and where to view your usage in your dashboard.

What Is a Link Your Own Courier (LYOC) Account?

If you've connected your own courier accounts to Easyship — for example, your own DHL or FedEx account — this is known as a Link Your Own Courier (LYOC) connection. Easyship provides the tools to generate and manage labels through these accounts.

How LYOC Usage Is Billed

As part of Easyship's usage monetisation framework, LYOC label generation and API usage are now billed on a standardised monthly cycle — replacing the previous manual billing and custom contract arrangements.

Shipment Your own courier account labelling fees

When you generate labels through your own linked courier accounts on Easyship, a small platform fee applies. This covers the cost of using Easyship's infrastructure to generate and manage your labels.

  • The fee is charged per label generated
  • It applies to all linked courier accounts
  • The rate is determined by your subscription plan or contractual agreement

Billing Cycle

All LYOC usage charges are billed monthly and align with your subscription renewal date.

  • Monthly plans: billed on your renewal date each month
  • Annual plans: usage charges are still billed monthly, not annually

Example: If you signed up on 2 June on an annual plan, your usage charges will be billed on the 2nd of every month.

Annual subscribers: your monthly usage invoice is separate from your annual subscription fee.

Viewing Your Usage

  1. Log in to your Easyship account
  2. Go to Subscription in your account settings
  3. You'll see two tabs: Account Usage and API Usage

Account Usage shows:

  • Labels generated in the current billing cycle via your linked courier accounts
  • The per-label fee rate applied
  • Total label fees accrued for the current period

Usage data refreshes approximately every 15 minutes.

Understanding Your Invoice

All LYOC usage charges appear as line items on your monthly invoice, with a breakdown showing:

  • Labels generated via linked courier accounts, with per-label rates and totals
  • Total charges for the billing period

To view your invoices, go to Subscription > Billing in your account settings.

FAQs

I'm on an annual plan — why am I receiving monthly charges?

Usage charges are billed monthly regardless of your subscription type. These are separate from your annual subscription fee and appear as distinct line items on your invoice each month.

Can I see a breakdown of which courier accounts are generating labels?

Yes. The Account Usage tab in your Subscription settings shows a breakdown by linked courier account, including how many labels each account has generated in the current cycle.

What if my subscription payment fails?

If your payment fails, access to LYOC label generation and paid API endpoints may be restricted. Update your payment method in billing settings and retry the payment, or contact our support team for help.

Who can I contact about my charges?

Reach out to the Easyship support team via Easyship Support or contact your account manager directly.
