What is Pay by Bank?
Pay by Bank lets you link your US bank account directly to Easyship and use it to pay for shipments, top up your wallet, and manage payments all from within your dashboard. It uses ACH direct debit, a secure bank-to-bank payment method.
How do I set it up?
You can add your bank account in three places: from your Payment Methods page, during the shipment booking flow, or when adding credits to your Easyship Wallet. The steps are the same regardless of where you start.
Step 1: Go to Payment Methods
In your Easyship dashboard, navigate to Payment Methods and click Add Payment Method. You'll see ACH Direct Debit listed as a new option. Click on it to begin.
Step 2: Enter your details
You'll be asked to enter your email address and full name. Once done, use the search bar to find and select your bank from the list.
Step 3: Authenticate with your bank
You'll be shown a prompt asking whether you'd like to log in to your bank account. Click Yes to continue. You'll then be asked to enter your bank username and password. This step is handled entirely by Stripe — your credentials go directly to your bank and are never stored by Easyship.
Step 4: Select your account
After logging in, you'll see the accounts associated with your bank. Choose the account you'd like to link with Easyship — for example, your checking account — and click Continue.
Step 5: Review and confirm
You'll be shown a summary of the bank account you've chosen to link, including the account type and the email address provided. Review the details and confirm to complete the connection.
Step 6: Set as default (optional)
Once your bank account is linked, you'll be asked if you'd like to set it as your default payment method for shipments and wallet top-ups. Select your preference and click Save Changes.
Your bank account will now appear as an available payment method in your dashboard.
Is it secure?
Yes. The bank linking process is handled entirely by Stripe. Your banking credentials are never stored by Easyship and they go directly to your bank via Stripe's secure authentication flow. Because this process requires you to actively authenticate with your bank, it is inherently more secure than paying by credit card, where card details can be stolen and used without your knowledge.
Where can I use Pay by Bank?
Once linked, you can use your bank account to:
- Pay for shipment labels — select it as your payment method during the booking flow
- Add credits to your Easyship Wallet — choose it when topping up your balance
- Set as your default payment method — manage this from your Payment Methods page
Will I earn anything for using Pay by Bank?
Yes, Easyship offers a 0.5% cashback on eligible transactions when you use Pay by Bank to purchase shipment labels. Cashback is credited to your account once the shipment has been delivered.
FAQs
Why can't I see ACH Direct Debit as an option?
Pay by Bank is currently available to a select group of eligible customers only. If you don't see it in your Payment Methods, your account may not yet be eligible. If you believe this is an error, please contact our support team.
Is my banking information safe?
Yes. Easyship uses Stripe to handle the bank linking process. Your login credentials are passed directly and securely to your bank — they are never visible to or stored by Easyship.
Can I link more than one bank account?
You can link a bank account and choose which account within that bank you'd like to use. For questions about managing multiple accounts, contact our support team.
What happens if there aren't enough funds in my account when a payment is due?
Unlike credit cards, ACH payments are not guaranteed. If funds are unavailable at the time of the payment pull, the transaction may fail and we will attempt to recover the payment using the credit card you have saved on file. Make sure both your linked bank account and saved card have sufficient funds to cover any pending charges.
Can I remove my bank account once it's linked?
Yes. You can manage your linked payment methods from the Payment Methods page in your dashboard.
Will this replace my credit card?
No. Pay by Bank is an additional payment method. Your existing credit card will remain on file and you can continue to use it. You can choose your preferred default payment method from your Payment Methods page.
I'm outside the US, can I use Pay by Bank? Not currently. ACH is a US domestic payment network, so Pay by Bank is only available to customers with US bank accounts.
