Couriers measure and weigh every package before shipping it. If there is any discrepancy between the dimensions and weight you declared and those measured by the courier, there will be a cost adjustment billed to your account after you've booked the shipments.
- If the weight and dimensions you declared are lower than the actual weight and dimensions, you will be charged for the difference.
- Likewise, if the weight and dimensions you declared are higher than the actual weight and dimensions, you will automatically be refunded for the difference.
A decisive factor used in calculating the price of your shipment is the volumetric weight.
In the Statements section of your account, you can see all the adjustments that have been made (if any) at the shipment level.
In this example, a shipment was created with a weight of 4.469KG.
However, after receiving the invoice from the courier, it appears that the audited weight is 2kg.
This has created an adjustment to credit the difference between the entered value of 4.469KG and the invoiced value of 2.0KG.
Worth noting is that depending on the courier, we can receive notice of these adjustments between 1 to 3 months after the shipment creation date.
