Easyship is now available as an embedded app inside Shopify Admin, so you can create or connect your account and manage settings without leaving Shopify. This article covers what's new, whether you're installing Easyship for the first time or already use it today.
Overview
This update is the first phase of Easyship's work toward Shopify's official Built for Shopify badge. It replaces the previous sign-up and login experience, where you were redirected to easyship.com, with a flow that stays inside Shopify Admin from install through setup. Purchasing shipping labels and a few advanced settings still happen in the full Easyship app for now. Later updates will bring more of that into Shopify Admin.
Step-by-Step Instructions
If You're Installing Easyship for the First Time
- Install the app. A permission window opens requiring permission to access personal data, and view / edit store data.
- Once you have given permission, the app opens automatically inside Shopify Admin. You won't be redirected to the Easyship website.
- On the welcome screen, choose one of two options:
- Click Get Started to create a new Easyship account. You'll confirm a few details like your phone number which is mandatory for Easyship account creation. Add a billing address, and choose a 14-day free trial plan. You don't need to set a separate password to get started.
- Click Connect your Easyship account if you already have one. Enter your existing username and passwords, then click Log In. You'll stay inside Shopify Admin the whole time.
- Once your account is created, you'll be asked to set up Fallback Details. A fallback product category, weight, and box or product dimensions. Easyship uses these to calculate shipping rates whenever a Shopify product is missing that information. Fill these in and click Finish Setup once complete.
- Once you're connected, you'll land on your Home screen. New merchants also see a Quick Setup Guide with six tasks to complete:
- Sync your Shopify orders
- Configure your Easyship–Shopify store settings
- Sync your products
- Add your boxes
- Set up your shipping rules
- Add a payment method for shipments and usage.
Below that is an overview of your Shopify shipping activity.
If You Already Use Easyship with Shopify
- Search for Easyship in the installed app section in the Shopify admin. The Easyship app will appear on the side bar.
- The first time you log in, enter your existing username and password.
- Once logged in, you can start using the embedded app with all the sections and data available.
What Your Embedded App Includes
- Account - your profile, subscription details, and addresses.
- Profile: View your name and email. Click Create a password to set up separate login credentials for the Easyship app, because if you are trying to fulfil orders, you need to do that in Easyship app by creating the password. Label generation will be added very soon which will allow you to fulfill orders without visiting Easyship.
- Subscription: See your current plan. Click Manage your subscription or Explore your subscription to open your billing details in the full Easyship app. This opens in a new tab for security.
- Addresses: View, add, or edit your billing address and sender addresses.
- Settings: To configure Order Sync, Shipping at Checkout, Fallback Settings, and Products for your Shopify store. Shipping Rules shows the rules currently applied to your store for reference; click Add / edit rules to make changes in the full Easyship app.
- Help: Email support is available on every plan. Click Visit Help Center to open the full Help Center in a new tab.
Key Information and Callouts
- Managing your subscription always opens the full Easyship app in a new tab, for billing security.
- This update is available automatically to all Shopify merchants, on every plan tier, including free trial. You don't need to opt in.

- Advanced settings like couriers, packing boxes, insurance, and customer-facing documents, aren't in the embedded app yet. Click Launch the independent Easyship app from Account or Settings to configure these.
- If your connection ever fails, you'll see an error message with a Reconnect Store button.
- Shipping Rules are shown for reference only in the embedded app. To add or edit a rule, click Add / edit rules to open the full Easyship app.
- Live Chat support requires the Plus plan or above. Call support requires the Premier plan or above. Email support is available on every plan, including free trial.
FAQs
Do I need to create a new username and password to use Easyship in Shopify?
No. If you're a new user, your Easyship account is created automatically using your Shopify email when you click Get Started. If you'd also like to log into the full Easyship app outside Shopify, click Create a password in your Profile settings.
Can I use the embedded app with my existing Easyship account?
Yes. Click Connect your Easyship account on the welcome screen and log in with your existing username and password.
If I make changes in the embedded app, will they show up if I log into Easyship outside of Shopify?
Yes. The embedded app and the full Easyship app use the same account, so changes sync both ways.
Where do I find advanced settings like couriers, packing boxes, or insurance?
These aren't in the embedded app yet. Go to Account or Settings and click Launch the independent Easyship app to configure them.
Where do I purchase shipping labels?
For now, label purchase still happens in the full Easyship app. This will be added to the embedded experience in a future update.
Does Easyship have the "Built for Shopify" badge?
Not yet. This update is the first phase of that work. It brings sign-up, account, settings, and help into Shopify Admin. We'll share an update when later phases, including label purchase, are complete.
