FedEx Ground Economy uses two carriers to get your package to its destination. FedEx handles pickup and the main part of the journey. USPS delivers it for the final leg, to the recipient's address.
How to Drop off Your FedEx Ground Economy Package?
- Find your nearest FedEx drop-off location. This includes FedEx Office locations, FedEx drop boxes, and FedEx-authorized shipping centers.
- Take your package there with the FedEx Ground Economy label attached.
- Don't use a USPS post office or USPS collection box, even if it's more convenient.
Note: If your package ends up at USPS instead of FedEx, it will get stuck. USPS is only paid for the last leg of the delivery. When a package arrives at USPS without going through FedEx first, USPS treats it as underpaid postage. The package won't move forward, and it usually won't come back to you either.
Why the Label Has Two Barcodes
Your shipping label has two barcodes because of this:
The main FedEx barcode - FedEx uses this to process your package.
Secondary USPS barcode - It is used only for the last mile, once the package is already in the FedEx network.
The USPS barcode doesn't mean you can drop the package off at USPS. It's only for tracking the final leg, after FedEx has processed the package.

Why does my label have a USPS tracking number if I need to use FedEx?
FedEx Ground Economy keeps costs down by having FedEx handle the initial transit and USPS complete the final delivery. The USPS number tracks that last leg. It doesn't mean you should drop the package off at USPS.
What happens if I already dropped my package off at a USPS location?
It will likely get held up, since USPS hasn't been paid for the full journey. It may not move forward, and it may not come back to you automatically. Contact Easyship support as soon as possible if this happened to you.
How do I find my nearest FedEx drop-off point?
Use the FedEx location finder on FedEx's website, or check the drop-off details on your shipping label. Compare it to your nearest USPS location so you don't mix up the two.
Does this apply to other Easyship shipping services?
Yes. Other economical services that combine two carriers, like UPS Ground Saver, work the same way. Drop your package off with the main carrier named at the top of the service, not the secondary carrier referenced on the label.
Do I need to change anything on my Easyship dashboard for this?
No. This is only about where you physically drop off the package. No dashboard settings change.
