Easyship supports a range of online sellers and businesses around the world, including third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders and returns platforms. If your account verification was declined and your business operates as a reseller of shipping services, this article explains what might have happened and what you can do next.
How To Setup An Easyship Account For 3PLs, Freight Forwarders or Returns Platforms
Easyship’s standard terms of service restrict reselling services. Therefore, if you are a 3PL, Freight Forwarder or Returns Platform, you need to contact us for a custom reseller agreement.
- Open a new business account and contact our sales team
- Complete the “chat to an expert” form with the applicable business information
- One of our shipping consultants will follow up with a step by step guide on getting started
Why Certain Business Models Are Not Eligible for Self-Serve Verification
Easyship's standard sign-up process verifies the individual or business that is shipping on the platform, including who is paying for the shipments.
When an account ships on behalf of other individuals, organizations or businesses, Easyship does not have visibility into who those underlying customers are, what they are shipping, or how they are being charged.
Since there are clear guidelines and transparency rules for shipping with all carriers, Easyship as a platform cannot auto-approve these types of accounts with our standard self-serve verification. All reseller accounts must contact our sales team for a custom reseller agreement.
This reseller specific process does not take long and you can quickly be set up and onboarded onto the Easyship platform once you contact our team.
Does This Apply to Your Business? Review Your Requirements & Contact Us
Customers cannot resell or otherwise share access to the services provided by Easyship with a third party without Easyship's prior written consent. Resellers are not eligible under the standard terms of service, which means you cannot use the Self-Serve verification if:
- You are a 3PL or warehouse, shipping and fulfilling orders on behalf of multiple merchants or individual clients.
- You are a freight forwarder, consolidating or relaying shipments for other businesses or individuals, including for cross-border shipments.
- Your account is used solely for the purpose of creating return labels for products your business did not sell directly to an end customer.
If your business matches any of these use cases. Please contact our sales team for a specific reseller agreement. You can be up and running in as little as 24-48 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I resolve this by resubmitting my account verification documents?
No, this process must go through the sales team. Any decision via the self-service flow is based on the nature of the business and not based on the documents submitted. It reflects the fact that your business model (either 3PL, freight forwarder, or returns-only platform) is not eligible for self-serve verification. Resubmitting will not change the outcome.
I am not sure whether my business qualifies as a 3PL or freight forwarder. What should I do?
If you are unsure which category applies to you, please contact support and the team will review your specific situation. We’re here to help, 24/7.
Can my business still use Easyship?
Yes. 3PLs, warehouses, freight forwarders and returns platforms can ship with Easyship through a direct custom contract arranged by our Sales team, rather than through self-serve sign-up.
I am an employee, freelancer, or agency setting up Easyship on behalf of a client. Does this apply to me?
It could apply to you. If you are creating an account on behalf of a company you do not own, signup with the applicable business details and then contact sales to ensure a smooth process.
