Note: Pay On Use Return Labels are available for users on Premier plans and above; if you're on a Free or Plus account, you can still generate Pre Paid Return Labels.
When shipping domestically in the US or Canada, you can now include a label to allow for an easy return process for your customer. These labels are Pay on Use, meaning you won't get billed for the return label unless it gets used by the customer.
There are different ways to set this up on your account, from a manual setup to automatic Shipping Rules. Here, we will explain how to do both.
Pay-on-use labels are available from the following account countries:
- United States (USPS)
- Canada: (Canada Post)
When creating a shipment, you will find the Include Return Label button.
You can also automatically include Return Labels by adding a Shipping Rule to avoid manually activating each time.
Use this Shipping Rule Action highlighted below to include this option: Include return labels in the outbound shipment documents.
NOTE: The price of the pre-paid Return Label cannot be reflected at Checkout
You can see the Return as a line item on your dashboard when purchasing your label.
Our system will select the cheapest USPS service. Usually, it is First Class or Priority Mail, depending on the weight of the shipment.
NOTE: It is impossible to select an alternative courier to USPS at this time for returns.
In Summary, you will see the following -
A Boomerang will appear after purchasing your shipment with a pay-on-scan return label.
Click on Boomerang to locate the return shipment profile.
The address on the Return label will be the address you have previously specified as the Sender Address on your account.
When downloading shipping documents, the return label will be included. Remember to pack this label inside the shipment for easy access.
The first document is the original label and the second document is the return label.
