Sync Orders From Shopify to Easyship

To successfully sync orders from Shopify to Easyship, certain requirements must be met. This guide outlines the default sync criteria, explains how Fulfillment Order (FO) sync works, and shows how to customize sync settings for more control.

For general information on syncing orders, see view How to Sync Your Store Orders.

Default Settings

1. Order Payment: Orders must be paid or marked as paid in Shopify and cannot be marked as fulfilled.

2. Physical Products: Items in the order must be marked as physical products.

3. Fulfillment Order (FO) Status: The Fulfillment Order must be new to Easyship. If the order it belongs to has already synced, that FO is skipped.

How Fulfillment Order Sync Works

Shopify orders can be split into multiple Fulfillment Orders (FOs) — for example, when items ship from different locations or in separate batches. Easyship syncs at the FO level rather than the order level.

Each FO in Shopify creates its own separate shipment in Easyship, numbered to show its place in the sequence. For example, an order split into three FOs will appear in Easyship as three shipments: 1/3, 2/3, and 3/3.

Note: Fulfillment status and tracking details are now sent at the FO level, not the order level. When all FOs on an order are marked Fulfilled, Shopify automatically marks the whole order Fulfilled. Until then, the order stays in Partially Fulfilled status.

Note: Ship From address information is not yet synced from Shopify. This is not currently supported.

What Happens to My Existing Orders?

Orders already synced to Easyship are not re-synced or affected by this change. Only new Fulfillment Orders created in Shopify going forward will sync under the FO-based logic described above.

Advanced: Customize Based on Status

Orders in Shopify have various statuses, which determine if they sync to Easyship. To customize these settings:

1. Navigate to Store > Order Sync Settings in Easyship.

2. Under Include orders by status, you can see the current statuses being synced.

3. Click Edit to choose which payment and order statuses you want to sync.

Note: This operation is advanced and should only be done if you're confident with your Shopify integration.

FAQs

Will I see duplicate shipments?

No. Fulfillment Orders that belong to orders already in your Easyship account are skipped, so they won't create duplicate shipments.

Why does my order show as "Partially Fulfilled" in Shopify?

This means at least one, but not all, of the order's Fulfillment Orders has been marked Fulfilled. Once every FO on the order is fulfilled, Shopify updates the order status to Fulfilled automatically.

Why do I see multiple shipments for one order?

If your order was split into multiple Fulfillment Orders in Shopify, each FO syncs to Easyship as its own shipment, labeled with its position in the sequence (e.g. 1/3, 2/3, 3/3).
