How to Use USPS Flat Rate Services

Flat Rate shipments are great for customers sending heavy packages via the United States Postal Service. In this article, we break down what these services are and how to use them on Easyship.

We'll cover:

About USPS Flat Rates

Flat rate shipping is a shipping service that you can find offered by a variety of couriers, notably USPS. Its major feature is that it charges one flat rate regardless of the weight of the package.

If you're shipping very heavy items and it happens to be able to fit within the various packaging options provided, this could potentially save you money on shipping costs.

When selecting these boxes, please note that USPS requires specially marked boxes that are sold by USPS.  Please also note that all contents must fit comfortably and packing must be sealed without any convexity/curvature.

How to Automatically Select USPS Flat Rate Boxes

On Easyship, the algorithm will automatically assign the best fitting Auto box to your order. This applies on the dashboard and via our checkout plugin checkout. To activate USPS Flat Rate Boxes, go to the Boxes Section in your Dashboard and select Auto next to the flat rate box of your choice. Note that you need to have synced products with saved dimensions on your dashboard.
